Introducing Friend System in ProfileGrid
Adding a friend system to your WordPress site is a great way to help your members connect with each other. With ProfileGrid, you can easily set up a friend system that lets users interact, build relationships, and feel more connected. This not only makes your site more engaging but also helps it grow as members invite their friends to join. Let’s see how you can use ProfileGrid to create a friendly, connected community on your WordPress site.
Activating Friend System
Go to Global Settings, and browse to the Friends System.
When you click on the Friend System option, you’ll be taken to the Friends Integration page.
Turn on a toggle to allow users to send friend requests to each other. There’s also another toggle that lets users resend a friend request if it was previously rejected. After enabling the options you want on this page, click the ‘Save’ button. Let’s review the frontend now.
Friend System on the Frontend
On the frontend, you will see the user profiles will have a tab called Add Friend.
By clicking on this tab, users can send friend requests. They’ll also receive notifications for every new friend request from other users.
Similarly, users have the option to ‘accept’ or ‘decline’ friend requests. Once a request is accepted, the new friend is added to the user’s friend list, which appears in the Friends tab of their profile. Users can remove a friend from their list at any time, even after accepting the request.
The Friends tab in a user’s profile shows how many friends they have, along with the number of accepted and sent friend requests. Users can easily start a chat by clicking on a friend’s icon, and they can view the entire chat history there. Plus, if someone sends a friend request, they’ll get a notification when it’s accepted.
Because the Friends System is part of the Global Settings, you don’t need to activate it separately for each group. This feature lets users from different groups connect and make friends with anyone across the site. It helps create an open community where there are no restrictions on who can become friends.

Hi,
To add friends, you have to go to another user’s profile.
Also, you have to enable private messaging and the Friend system in Global settings.
Thank you,
I have enabled the Friends System and the Messaging and it is not working. Friends or Messaging on the tab does not have a hyperlink to it. I have gone through my plugins, and cleaned my cookies, it does not work.

It seems like the issue is due to conflict with other plugin. Please check this after deactivating the plugins except ProfileGrid on your site. If still face issues, please write us here.
