Activating MailChimp Integration Extension
ProfileGrid offers various tools to create a fully-functioning membership website. Moreover, the wide variety of extensions and predefined shortcodes are the two most significant tools that do most of the jobs. The MailChimp integration extension comes with the premium ProfileGrid pack. There are other free extensions like WooCommerce and bbPress integration, Custom Profile Slugs and User Display Name. One has to activate the extensions from the Extensions page under the ProfileGrid dashboard menu.
Right after activation, the MailChimp integration extension will appear in the Global Settings page. This will allow users to apply this feature globally on all groups. Now if you click on the MailChimp integration menu, it will lead you to a page called the MailChimp Settings page.
Here, you’ll have to activate a toggle to Enable MailChimp. Also, from here, you can retrieve your MailChimp API Key from the link given on the page. Lastly, after pasting your API Key in the given space, click on ‘Save’ and exit the page.
Your next job is to create a List from where you will allow users to subscribe MailChimp list. You can create a new list from your MailChimp account, from where you retrieved your API key.
After you are done creating a List, go to the MailChimp link under the ProfileGrid menu. You will land on a page similar to the one given below.
It is called the New List page. Here, after clicking on the ‘New List’ option on the top left corner, you create a list. In the Send to Mailchimp List option, you select the same list that you created earlier on MailChimp site. However, make sure it is the same list where you want to allow users to subscribe to MailChimp.
Enabling the MailChimp Tab
Furthermore, after filling in all the parameters you click on the Save button to proceed to the final stage. You now have to go to the Group Manager page from the ProfileGrid option under ProfileGrid menu.
Select the group where you want to allow users to subscribe MailChimp list. Click on ‘Settings’ on the bottom left corner of the group. You will land on the Edit Group page. From here, activate the Enable MailChimp toggle, select the List and activate the Enable MailChimp Tab toggle.
Finally, click on the Save button to integrate MailChimp subscription in the group registration form.

First, we will take a look at the registration form, through which users will subscribe to the MailChimp list.
Above, we see the group registration form with the toggle that will offer users option to join your MailChimp list. When a user activates this toggle, a Newsletter tab appears on their profile, similar to the one given below.
As you can see, users have the option to turn the newsletter subscription on/off anytime they wish.
